, Amakhosi saw their Nedbank Cup title defence come to an end at the semi-final stage on Saturday as they went down to Bidvest Wits on penalties after 120 minutes at the Bidvest Stadium had ended 2-2.
The Glamour Boys have also seemingly conceded their PSL crown after falling four points behind Mamelodi Sundowns with just two games remaining this term, although Maluleka, who was man of the match against the Clever Boys, insists they are not ready to throw in the towel.
"It's obvious that we wanted to win but it's never a nice feeling to lose especially on penalties. We went into the game prepared to defend our title but it wasn't to be," Maluleka told Chiefs' official website.
"Things happen for a reason and we just need to focus on ourselves and win the remainder of our games maybe things will work out for us. We will continue to work hard until the last whistle of the season."
To Chiefs' fans, Maluleka said: "Our supporters have really been a pillar of strength throughout the season and we really feel bad that things ended this way.
"The supporters must know that we also love winning things and when we lose we become disappointed, we always try to do our best.
