Kaizer Chiefs came crashing down to reality after conceding three goals in their third-round, first-leg CAF Champions League tie against AS Vita Club at the Tata Raphael Stadium in Kinshasa on Sunday afternoon.
Chiefs, though, only have themselves to blame as they had a number of chances in front of goal, but their finishing was extremely poor.
AS Vita, in stark contrast, were clinical in front of goal and opened the scoring with a superb volley from Mubele in the eighth minute.
Chiefs, though, had more of the possession in the first half, but some woeful shooting from the likes of Knowledge Musona and Siphiwe Tshabalala saw them unable to draw level.

The Amkhosi were controlling matters, but found themselves on the back foot in the 36th minute when AS Vita made the most of a swift counter-attack that saw Mubele find his second goal of the afternoon to put the hosts 2-0 up.
Matters got worse for Chiefs after the break when Mubele completed his hat-trick a minute after the restart.
Chiefs tried to fight their way back into the match and came close to pulling a goal back on numerous occasions.
The closest they came to a goal was in the 56th minute when Kingston Nkhatha met a corner from Bernard Parker, but his header struck the woodwork.
Chiefs continued to push forward, but they were unable to breach the AS Vita goalline as the game ended 3-0
