At a media conference held at the PSL ahead of the resumption of the league, Mosimane said that his charges will do all that is necessary and possible to keep their title hopes alive.
“We’ve been on this road before but what is important is that we do what we did last year,” he said as quoted by Sundowns website.
“We need to focus on our game and take it match by match because that’s the only thing we have control over.”
The coach also gave his assessment of Themba Zwane and Bongani Zungu’s condition after the pair came back from the Africa Cup of Nations.
“We had the opportunity to assess the two players coming back from national duty with Bafana and because they didn’t play we might decide not to rush them but we’ll see”
“The good thing though is that we have a lot of players in these positions who we have worked with and prepared while they were away.
“For example we have Hlompho Kekana, Surprise Moriri or Kudakwashe Mahachi who have really been working hard”
Mosimane reiterated his point about his side’s chances in the second round, but one thing was very clear, Sundowns are still in it to win it.
“I have seen Sundowns squander a twelve point lead in the past and I have seen Bayern Munich get only one point from six matches but I have also seen the very same Sundowns fight back from an eleven points deficit.”
