Ethiopia and Nigeria to battle for 2014 spot

Nigeria vs. Ethiopia World Cup 2014 Playoffs: Nigeria Relaxed Ahead of Second Leg

Nigeria vs Ethiopia

In a few weeks Nigeria will look to lock up its World Cup berth when it takes on Ethiopia at home. The team won 2-1 in Ethiopia and heads into its home game with a clear advantage. But can the team pull it off?
Comments from Nigeria's players have given everyone reason to believe that the team is calm and collected in the time between the two legs.

"We are not under any pressure after our win in Ethiopia. They will be the ones under pressure. We will play good football and score loads of goals to qualify for the World Cup," said Super Eagles player Victor Obinna Nsofor according to Codewit World News. "The altitude (in Ethiopia) affected most of us and we waited for them in the first half to give us what they have."

"It was a difficult game for us all, but we fought as a team to get the needed result.
"I was introduced to stabilize the midfield and I did it to the best of my ability but sincerely my best is yet to come for the Super Eagles," he added about his performance. "One thing I can say for now is that I will continue to give my all for this team to ensure that we make our country proud, for sure."

Nigeria has two road goals and can afford a draw or even a 1-0 loss at home. However, the team held a lengthy winning streak earlier this year before it lost to Uruguay in the Confederations Cup and has looked solid in qualifiers.

Ethiopia needs a 2-0 win to qualify for its first ever World Cup. A 2-1 win would extend the game to extra-time and potentially force penalties.
The match takes place on Nov. 16.
