Namibia failed to finish amongst the medals after losing 4-0 to Zambia in the third place play-off.
Zambia took control of the match with two first half goals in quick succession and from then on were never threatened.
Just before halftime they went 3-0 ahead after scoring from a quick counterattack while their impressive midfielder Stanley Chikandiwa sealed their victory with a great freekick that curled around the wall.
Namibian captain Pekka Hamukwaya said they could not raise their game due to fatigue.
"We were just too tired. We played seven matches with nearly one each day and could not raise our level against Zambia," he said.
Namibia's coach David Morgan said they played too many games, which affected the players' concentration.
"My boys were exhausted, which affected their concentration. The heat also caught us. I think in future they should make sure that there is a rest day in between matches during the knockout stages," he said.
It was the second time that Namibia had narrowly lost out on a medal, which made the defeat even more painful according to Morgan.
"It's painful not to win a medal, but that's how it goes in soccer. At the previous games in the DRC we also missed out on a medal after losing to South Africa on penalties," Morgan said.
The women's soccer title was won by the DRC who beat Angola 4-2 on penalties after the teams were tied at 1-1 at the end of extra time.
It was however not much of a spectacle as both sides committed numerous fouls, resulting in continuous stoppages for injuries.
