Kachinga said in an interview at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka on Sunday that they are determined to change the status when the two southern Africa teams clash.
Zambia booked a date with South Africa after trouncing Botswana 8-3 on aggregate.
“We are ready to take on the next challenge. We just have to prepare well if we prepare well we shall have good results. I am quite hopeful that we have a squad, which can take us to Costa Rica. All we need is to camp early.
“South Africa has always been difficult opponents but this time we feel it is our time to qualify for the Wold Cup. So will do our homework to end their dominance,” Kachinga said.
The last time the two teams met the She-polopolo beat South Africa 2-1 in the semi-finals of the 2012 Supreme Council for Sports in Africa Zone Six Under-20 Games.
And South Africa Football Association technical director Fran Hilton-Smith said they will have intense preparations ahead of the match against Zambia.
“Now we have an opportunity to start preparing more intensely for the qualifiers. Most of our players are based at the High Performance Centre so they are constantly training and we will be preparing for friendlies before facing our opponents,” Hilton-Smith said.
The 2014 FIFA Under-17 World Cup final are slated for March 15 to April 5 in Costa Rica.
