George Comitis the Ajax Cape Town CEO said, "It's unfortunate that Thato pulled his hamstring yesterday, ruling him out of accompanying Khama Billiat to a training camp with Ajax Amsterdam.
"Thato will return to Cape Town where the Ajax Cape Town medical team will assess the injury and set up his treatment program. We will look at sending Thato to Amsterdam at a later date." This is according to Ajax Cape Town's official website.
Billiat will train with Ajax Amsterdam before returning back to South African.
Billiat told Ajax Cape Town official website: "This is an exciting opportunity for us as we will be training under the guidance of the renowned Frank de Boer, coach of Ajax Amsterdam.
"It's not often that a player gets invited to train with a top European team and I hope to make the most of this chance.
"This invitation gives us a chance to experience top flight football first hand and I am sure it will encourage us to return one day. It's good to know that Hennie Spijkerman (the ex-Ajax Cape Town assistant coach) and Thulani Serero are there as they will help us to settle in."
The last player to leave the Urban Warriors to join the Dutch giants was midfield sensation Thulani Serero who has been settled well since making the switch from Cape Town.
