"With millions of rands injected into this environment through the World Cup hosting fees payable to Safa by Fifa, we can only hope, as Fifa has already pronounced, this money will go straight to grassroots development so that all the 25 regions of Safa across the country will have facilities improved, administration jacked up, match officials and coaches developed. Well structured and sponsored competitions need to be in place to ensure that development leagues are incenti- vising those who put an extra effort in the development of players. Development can only be measured through structured competitions."
Safa president Kirsten Nematandani described the indaba, which was also addressed by Bafana Bafana coach Pitso Mosimane and technical director Serame Letsoaka, as a resounding success.
"The indaba highlighted the fact that as a nation we have demonstrated to the world that Africa can deliver and now is a moment in Safa's history to integrate this experience of global excellence into all areas of football development, with sound administration and committed community engagement," said Nematandani.
