After watching Ajax Cape Town being hammered 4-0 by a ruthless Kaizer Chiefs attack on Saturday, few would believe that the young Cape side is fighting for the league title.
Without the services of influential midfielder Granwald Scott who is out with a knee injury, it was always going to be difficult task for the young side against a Chiefs side that had lost two of their previous matches.
However their coach, Foppe De Haan is optimistic that his boys are still within reach of the league title and have to show that desire in their next game against Maritzburg United.

“Look we are still in this, especially if we win our next game. Kaizer Chiefs played a very good game against us and it is now up to us to make sure that we do not repeat the same feat against Maritzburg United.” said the Ajax mentor.
Following Orlando Pirates’ 1-all draw with Santos on Saturday, the Urban Warriors are still on top with 59 points and are seen by many as the favorites to walk away with their first ever league title.
“The results with all the teams fighting for the league title were on our side on the day, but it odes not mean we must take it easy now. But at the same time, right now, we still have a slight advantage.” The Dutch coach said.
The Cape side will go into their last match without the services of Thembinkosi Fanteni who received his third yellow card and will have to sit out their all important encounter against the Team of Choice.
