Banyana on the right track for Olympics

The South African women's soccer team will be boosted by the return of three key players for Saturday's Olympic qualifying match against Tunisia in Umlazi near Durban.

Foreign-based midfielders Nompumelelo Nyandeni and Kylie Ann Louw, as well as central defender Janine van Wyk, who returns from injury, made the cut when the final squad, reduced from 24 players to 18, was named on Thursday.

Teenage midfield sensation Jermaine Seopesenwe, who missed Banyana's previous match against Namibia in Upington due to school exams, has also been recalled, along with Zama Cele.

Goalkeeper Andile Dlamini and midfielder Memory Makhanya have been called up for the first time.

Banyana Banyana will have fond memories of the King Zwelithini Stadium, having beaten Zambia 3-0 at the same venue in January, and will hope for their strikers to find the target again in order to take a healthy goal advantage to the return leg in Tunisia on April 17.
