The South African development soccer team are on the brink of qualifying for the quarterfinals of the second Orange African Nations Championship (CHAN), after an impressive 2-0 victory over Niger on Wednesday at the Medani Stadium in Gezira State, Sudan.
The team also won their opening Group B match against Ghana last Saturday which leave them with six points with one match remaining in the group stages.

South Africa started the match like a house on fire by creating many goal scoring opportunities, but could not convert them.
Head coach Simon Ngomane's half-time talk was just what the boys needed as they grabbed two goals in the second stanza without reply from Niger.
The first came in the 57th minute from Myron Shongwe, who completed his brace in the 88th minute.
Ngomane expressed his delight at the result and also how proud he was of his team and their achievements in this tournament.

"Niger gave us a run for our money, I thought they played very well and showed they are a very competitive team, but credit should go to my players for winning their second match in a row.
"I have seen this team growing and improving with every match as the tournament continues, and I am really proud of what they have achieved so far."
In another Group B match Zimbabwe defeated Ghana 1-0 which means the only two teams from Southern Africa occupy the two top positions in Group B.
South Africa top the group with two wins followed by Zimbabwe with one win and one loss but with a superior goal difference to Niger. Ghana is last in the group with no win.
