DR Congo side TP Mazembe have become the first side from Africa to reach the final of the Club World Cup championships.
The underdog side beat Brazilian team Internacional 2-0 in Dubai courtesy of a pair of second half strikes
The African side had started the match slowly seemingly overawed by their more favoured opponents. As the game wore on they got into their stride and had their keeper Muteba Kidiaba to thank for not falling behind as they found their feet.
Mulota Kabangu opened the scoring in the 53rd minute before Alain Kaluyituka sealed the win with a 85th minute finish to send the TP Mazembe bench into rapturous celebration.
Speaking after the game TP Mazembe coach Lamine N’Diaye said :” We are here to represent Africa and all of Africa will be proud of our work. It's a day of happiness for us and also a day of pride - we have succeeded and shown that our players are of a high standard”.
