Gangly Kaizer Chiefs striker Sthembiso Ngcobo did it for Bafana Bafana coach Pitso Mosimane.
Mosimane was under the whip for roping in Ngcobo into his squad although he played a little part in the Kaizer Chiefs lineup.
Ngcobo, however, showed why Mosimane has confidence in him when he destroyed Orlando Pirates in Chiefs' second successive victory of the Telkom Knockout title at FNB Stadium.
The former Free State Stars striker scored a brace with the other goal coming from Siphiwe Tshabalala when Chiefs hammered Pirates 3-0.
Chiefs have clinched this title 13 times since it was launched in 1992.
Many people were expecting the usual suspect, Knowledge "Smash and Grab" Musona, to show Pirates the stars.
This was after Musona scored two goals and created the third one in their 3-1 win in a league match last month. On Saturday, Ngcobo stood up and firmly raised his right to say he will write the script of yet another Ziwa More title for Chiefs.
Ngcobo will surely add value to Bafana Bafana in their 2012 and 2013 Africa Cup of Nations campaign.
He also won R5000 for being selected Man of the Match on Saturday.
Ngcobo said: "First of all, a big thank you to my team-mates. Soccer is played by a team, I would not have scored the goals if it were not because of the support of my teammates.
"We played well and deserved to win, we are now going to channel our energies into the league. I hope we maintain the same form in the league."
Chiefs coach Vladimir Vermozovic heaped praises on Ngcobo for a job well done. "For me, this was his best game since he joined us (at the beginning of the season). He formed a deadly combination with Musona."
While Ngcobo pulled Bucs' rearguard this and that way, his counterpart at Pirates, strongman Ezenwa Otorogu, was manfully dealt with by Chiefs defender Valery Nahayo.
This was one big difference in the make-up of the finalists on Saturday - the deadly accuracy and runs of Ngcobo and a caged Otorogu
