Thulasizwe Mbuyane received a rude welcome when he went to visit his family in Mamelodi yesterday reports Kickoff.com
The former Sundowns ballboy scored a brace for Orlando Pirates in their 2-1 win over Sundowns on Saturday and it appears that Downs faithful wounds were still raw the day after.
He said :” My trip home ended up being disappointing and I wished that I had stayed in my place in Midrand. The situation started when I got to Mamelodi and fans started hurling insults at me. It became worse later; in fact, their nasty words are unprintable”.
Mbuyane, who grew up in Mamelodi said he understood that fans were upset but that he had to give his best for his team. He added :” I grew up supporting Moroka Swallows but used to be a ball boy for Sundowns at HM Pitje during the time of Fire Masilela and Joas Magolego”.
The defeat against Pirates as the first time Sundowns dropped points in league action this season.
