Dolly to good for defenders

Cape Town - SuperSport United coach Gordon Igesund felt his side were unable to deal with the pace and threat of Keagan Dolly following Saturday's Telkom Knockout defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns.

Matsatsantsa saw their TKO title defence ended at the semi-finals after going down 3-1 to the Brazilians, with Leonardo Castro, Thabo Nthethe and Bongani Zungu grabbing the goals to render David Mathebula's temporary equaliser as only a consolation.

Igesund, though, felt it was man of the match Dolly who made the biggest impact on the game, while also ruing some of his side's defensive frailties after battling back to 1-1.

"I was happy right up till 1-1," Igesund told Soccer Laduma.

"We conceded a goal, we fought back and scored a magnificent free-kick from David Mathebula.

"At half time I told the players that they (Sundowns) are getting a little bit of freedom on the far post and I told them to deal with that and to make sure, and of course they scored from that situation.

"But right up until there I think it was an even game.

"When they went 2-1 up, of course we have to start pushing players forward and we did that.

"I think the difference between the two teams tonight was Keagan Dolly, he was outstanding and well done to him, he really was the difference in the two teams tonight, he was excellent."
