With the upcoming launch the social media was indifferent with a leaked jersey that was green but now the fans can breathe a sigh of relief that the strip is in the original black with the away kit an all red.
75th anniversary edition which was in 2011, was the last time the Buccaneers had a jumper with a white collar. It returns this year with the original Adidas stripes across the shoulder and upper arm.
“We are very excited for this season’s Orlando Pirates kit,” said Adidas PR Manager, Gugu Ntuli.
“Our strong relationship with this legendary Club has allowed for our designers to create something special for our players and their fans.”
Pirates’ first outing in their new jersey is none more fitting than an encounter against their biggest arch rivals, Kaizer Chiefs, at the FNB on July 26 for the Carling Black Label Cup.
