The national team mentor, who coached Jordan at Manning Rangers when the Durban side won the inaugural Premier Soccer League title in 1997, was given an Auckland City FC pennant, the number 14 jersey which Jordan last won and a club tie in New Zealand's biggest city on Wednesday, 28 May 2014.
Jordan (then 37) died in October last year after a 12-year battle with cancer. He is still regarded a football hero in this Oceania island of four-and-half million people.
"I felt really touched by the gesture. I am speechless," said Igesund after he was presented with the jersey, tie and the emblem by the club's treasurer Stephen Vuksich who is the son of owner Irvine Vuksich.
The presentation was done at Takapuna Sports Complex where Bafana Bafana conducted their training session ahead of their clash with New Zealand at MT Smart Stadium on Friday night (30 May) at 19h30 local time in New Zealand (09h30 SA time).
"I am going to share this with Keryn's son. This is a huge honour because he (Keryn) used to tell all and sundry here that I was his greatest mentor, hence the club decided to give me this token of appreciation," added Igesund.
Auckland City FC was voted Oceania club of the Decade for their domination from 2001-2010 and Jordan contributed immensely to this recognition.
