Khune's fitness improving

Johannesburg - Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper, Itumeleng Khune, says that he’s now 85% fit, confirming that he underwent his first training session on Thursday.

According to the Soccer-Laduma website, the 26-year-old will be itching to get back between the posts after a lengthy lay-off due to an ankle injury, though will still have to wait a little bit longer to make his return.

Chiefs take on AS Vita in the CAF Champions League on Saturday night as they look to overturn a 3-0 deficit, though they will have to try and do so without Khune’s help.

However, it seems that he could make a return early next month as he continues to draw closer to full fitness.

The Amakhosi skipper tweeted yesterday saying, “I had my 1st training session today, feeling good. I can't wait to get back to the Action.#GodIsGreat.

“I'm 85% fit, by next week I should be 95%.”

Khune could play his first game back for the Amakhosi when they take on Golden Arrows on April 2.
