Banyana Banyana coach Augustine Makalakalane has named the 21-strong squad to take part in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) African Women’s Championship 2010.
The national team will use the tournament to fight for a place at the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Germany in June next year.
Banyana will kick off their campaign when they play their Group A matches at the Sinaba Stadium against Tanzania next week.
They will also take on both Nigeria and Mali in November and Makalakalane said his side is ready to fulfil its ambitions going into the tournament.
“I am personally going into the tournament to win the tournament. I’m not going to set them up for second. There’s good pressure to keep us on our toes, so we can sleep well knowing that we’re going in the right direction,” he said.
