Kaizer Chiefs grabbed the Black Label Cup
The Glamour boys went all out on Saturday to claim their first title of the Black Label Cup at the FNB stadium which was packed to capacity. The Bucs came into the much-anticipated Soweto derby with their tails up because of their consecutive wins of the Black label cup which grant the football fanatics a chance to take the coaching stands.
Kaizer Chiefs striker, Lehloholono Majoro’s only goal of the match was enough to take Amakhosi to their first victory of the Black Label Cup since its inauguration in 2011.
It is no doubt that Amakhosi will begin their quest to defend the PSL title and the Nedbank Cup with confidence as they have already locked two trophies, which are the Gauteng Cup and the Black Label Cup in their cupboard at the Kaizer Chiefs home in Naturena in the pre-session tournaments.
Aside from Kaizer Chiefs celebrations of winning the Black Label Cup, also The Black Label Cup organisers are celebrating for reaching a record 22,2 million votes from football fanatics across the country who chose who should start the game and who should substitute who during the game by SMS’ing their names.
Kaizer Chiefs ‘coach’ of the day, Tebogo Letube, must be smiling from ear-to-ear for being able to help the Glamour Boys lift they first Black Label Cup Title since it first installation. However, not the same could be said about Orlando Pirates coach of the day,Khotso Mfati who saw his side first loss of the Black Label Cup, which the Bucs have defended well under the supervision of other ‘Coaches’ who only get the opportunity to coach their favourite club during the Black Label Cup.
